Ruthumana
“Ruthumana – Learning Along with Time” was a distinctive learning and theatrical process in Kalabhi's journey. Organised in collaboration with Arehole Pratistana and Nandagokula, the initiative was not conceived as a conventional workshop, but as an intensive 21-day residential process that brought together learning, shared living, experience and creative exploration.
Conducted at Avelavadi Rangashala, the residential programme created a space where participants lived, learned and engaged with the creative process together. Rather than approaching theatre only as a medium of performance, the programme explored it as a process connected with life, environment, relationships and collective learning.
Over the course of 21 days, the participants engaged in an intensive process of exploration, practice, interaction and creative work. The experience of living together, learning together and collectively developing an artistic expression became one of the defining aspects of Ruthumana.
The process culminated in the creation of the theatre production “Madhavehinn.” The final production emerged from the learning, rehearsals, conversations and collective creative journey that developed throughout the 21-day residential workshop.
Thus, “Ruthumana – Learning Along with Time” extended beyond the structure of a conventional workshop and developed into an experiential journey of learning, shared living and artistic creation. Within Kalabhi's journey, it stands as a distinctive initiative in which an intensive collective process eventually found expression through the creation and presentation of a final theatrical production, Madhavehinn.
