Navarasa
Navarasa was a one-day children’s theatre workshop organised by Kalabhi Theatre at Kalagrama, Bondel, Mangaluru, on 26 July 2026. Conducted by theatre practitioner and director Bhuvan Manipal, the workshop was designed for children between 7 and 18 years of age. The programme ran from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Built around the idea “Every child feels. Let them discover how to express,” Navarasa focused on creating a space where children could explore their feelings and discover ways of expressing them through theatre. Rather than placing emphasis only on performance, the workshop was conceived as an opportunity for children to engage with their own expression and creativity.
Held at Kalagrama, Kalabhi’s cultural space, the workshop brought children into a theatre environment where they could spend the day exploring expression under the guidance of a theatre practitioner. The focus on Navarasa placed emotions and their expression at the centre of the experience.
Navarasa became a focused one-day engagement with children and theatre, creating a space for them to look at their own feelings, explore expression and discover how those emotions can find a place within performance.
