About Us

Kalabhi is a journey of art and artists, growing together through artistic practice, learning and creative exploration.

Rooted in three key elements Art, Artist and Artistic Learning. Kalabhi emerged from a belief that art and artists are inseparable. The philosophy “Art for the sake of Artist; Artist for the sake of Art” became the guiding thought behind an idea that evolved over time and eventually took shape as Kalabhi.

Kalabhi is an amalgamation of young minds and hearts united by a shared passion for art. It brings together artists, learners and art enthusiasts through a common love for artistic expression and a desire to explore its many possibilities.

We believe that the beauty of art must be experienced by everyone and that artistic work deserves to be appreciated, valued and recognised. Everyone has a role to play in supporting the growth of the arts and contributing to their continued development.

Through open, evolving and thoughtful approaches to artistic expression, Kalabhi strives to nurture creativity, encourage meaningful exchange and contribute to a more empathetic and humane society.

The Meaning Behind Kalabhi

For us, Kalabhi is more than a name. It reflects the relationship between the artist, the learner and the audience.

Kala represents art, Kalavida the artist, Kalabhimani the admirer and enthusiast of art, and Kalike the process of learning. These ideas reflect the different dimensions of our journey creating art, learning through it, sharing it with others and building connections around it.

We believe art becomes meaningful not only through its creation but also through the people who experience, appreciate and engage with it. Kalabhi seeks to bring these worlds together, creating a space where artists and audiences can connect, learn from one another and grow through shared artistic experiences.

What We Strive For

– To make artistic experiences accessible to wider audiences.
– To create meaningful opportunities for artists to learn, practise, experiment and present their work.
– To explore new dimensions of artistic expression while engaging with traditional art forms.
– To encourage learning, creativity and personal growth through the arts.
– To build meaningful connections between artists, learners and communities.
– To nurture a culture in which art is experienced, appreciated, supported and allowed to evolve.
– To contribute to a more sensitive, open-minded and humane society through artistic expression.

Work for

Kalabhi’s work takes shape through theatre practice, artistic productions, creative learning initiatives and cultural programmes. Each initiative creates opportunities for artistic exploration, collaboration and engagement between artists and audiences.

From nurturing emerging talent and creating performances to facilitating artistic learning and bringing communities together through cultural experiences, our work is guided by a shared commitment to the growth of art and artists.

We continue to explore new possibilities, learn through practice and create spaces where artistic expression can flourish, ideas can be exchanged and art can become a meaningful part of everyday life.
